I noticed three unexposed frames on one of the rolls I got back from the photo lab. One of the missing frames was accounted for — I knew for certain I had accidentally hit the shutter button as I was putting the camera back into my bag. As for the other two, I’m not entirely sure.
After breakfast on the second day we stopped by the Amargosa Hotel, right off the Death Valley Junction, to tour the adjacent opera house. I vividly remember taking one exterior and one interior of the hotel. I’ve never been one to be susceptible to superstition, but according to the hotel manager and a variety of documentation, the hotel is known for being “haunted”. Whether the cause was paranormal or something more mundane, I’m bummed I don’t have those two images.
Anyway, here’s an incredibly blue hot spring from the same day.
